Castleisland Desmonds GAA Club U-12 Ladies had a great win against Abbeydorney.

A power packed second half guided Castleisland Desmonds to the Rose Hotel Division 2 Plate title at Ballyrickard on Tuesday evening.

It was a great team effort by all the players. At half time the score was Abbeydorney 4-3. Desmonds 1-4 – which left a lot of ground to be made up by the Islanders.

They did it, however, and the scorers were as follows: Amelia Kerin, 1-2; Seana Wilkinson, 0-4; Emily O’Donoghue, 1-1; Kate O’Connor, 0-3; Amy McCarthy, 1-0 and Amy Curtin, 0-1.

Impossible to Pick
It would be impossible to a pick player of the match.

All the above including Amelie and Seana were deadly going forward.

Erin O’Connor had a huge game in goals. In the backs, Hazel Burke Keelan O’Sullivan had great games with Robyn Cahill outstanding at centre back.
They were all brilliant including all the subs who came on. Congratulations to all the players and management from all in the club.

The Maine Valley Post has, is and always will be a free resource for the people of the locality and its wider diaspora.

When we started in 2013, the intention was to be a weekly, online newsletter. Over time, the site has evolved into a much different beast with multiple updates on a daily basis.
Because of its nature as a digital publication, it brings with it certain expenses: computers and cameras that require updating and maintenance; internet hosting and access; to say nothing of the time and hard work that goes into the site. It all adds up…
Our online community has always been our greatest asset and a vocal supporter of the Maine Valley Post since day one.
