Scartaglin GAA Club News Round-Up

Jack Rahilly Memorial Blitz

Scartaglen GAA Club in association with the Rahilly family of Knockacorrin will be hosting the Jack Rahilly U-12 Memorial Blitz in Scartaglen GAA pitch on Saturday July 7th.

The following teams will be taking part: Scartaglen, Cordal, Currow, Ballymac, Desmonds Castleisland, and Gneevguilla.

The blitz will be a mixed one of boys and girls. Each team will consist of 11 players, five boys and five girls to be playing at all times.

The goalie can be either. There will be a Cup Final, a Shield Final and a Plate Final.

Refreshments and food will be available on the day in the clubhouse. Starting time is 11am and all are welcome to what should be a very interesting, exciting and enjoyable day of Gaelic Football in memory of a great local GAA man.

Senior Football League Update

The group stage of the league has completed. Scartaglen has progressed to Phase 2 of the League. They are drawn away to Ballyduff on the 8th July. Throw in 2pm.

Junior Team in League and Championship

The junior team took part in the East Kerry Junior League and Co. Junior Football League. Scartaglen V Brosna in the Co. JFL is fixed for Tuesday 3rd July in Scartaglen.

U-12s in Action

The U-12 are currently in action in Phase 2 of the league. Two wins against Beale and Ballyheigue a draw against Gneeveguilla and a loss to Currow is how things stand

Féile Peile 2018

Scartaglen GAA Club would like to send its best wishes to the players, management, parents and supporters of the Cordal/Scartaglen U-14 Féile Team.

They travel to St Kevin’s GAA Club in Co Louth. The competition is being held over this weekend from 29th – 30th June and 1st July.

Well Done to Cumann na mBunscoil Winners

Congratulations to Scartaglen National School girls who won their Cumann na mbunscoil final recently in Farranfore.

Well done to Scartaglen U-12 footballer Jack O’Donoghue on his recent TV debut. Jack presented the weather recently on the Children’s TV.

Well done to Muireann Walsh who played in the Kerry Primary Games Team at halftime last Saturday evening in the Munster Final in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Congrats to Scart NS

Congrats to Scartaglin NS who were recently awarded their first Green Flag in recognition for tackling issues of litter and waste in their school and community.

Best of luck to Eddie & Sean Horan the Kerry U20 team who take on cork in the Munster Final on Friday evening June 29th in Austin Stacks Park Tralee. Best of luck also to senior footballer Daniel Murphy who is a selector with the Kerry Junior Team/

Scartaglen GAA Lotto took place in O’Connor’s Bar. The numbers drawn were: 12, 25, 9, 19.
