One of An Ríocht Athletic Club’s most successful training programmes is on its way back in preparation for its autumn season.

Couch to 5k returns on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm. from Tuesday July 17th at the Castleisland stadium.

€2 Per Session

Participants will undergo a seven-week, supervised training programme at just €2 per session.
They will train to complete a 5k run and take part in the club’s 5k series on August 31st. September 7th and 14th.

The Couch to 5K series has attracted hundreds of new-to-running participants since its introduction back in the autumn of 2012.

Medals and Celebrations

Completing the 5K and the camaraderie that goes with the achievement of fellow runners and collecting the medals and the celebration afterwards is a feeling known only to the first timers and to those who’ve been there.

Adequate Parking Spaces

The almost two month training programme is conducted on the tartan track within the stadium and its surroundings are well lit and supervised with more that adequate car parking spaces.

The Maine Valley Post has, is and always will be a free resource for the people of the locality and its wider diaspora.

When we started in 2013, the intention was to be a weekly, online newsletter. Over time, the site has evolved into a much different beast with multiple updates on a daily basis.
Because of its nature as a digital publication, it brings with it certain expenses: computers and cameras that require updating and maintenance; internet hosting and access; to say nothing of the time and hard work that goes into the site. It all adds up…
Our online community has always been our greatest asset and a vocal supporter of the Maine Valley Post since day one.
