Kerry Sinn Féin TD, Martin Ferris has written to University Hospital Kerry management and the HSE about current waiting times at the Accident and Emergency intake at the hospital.
Contacted by Patients
“Having been contacted by a number of patients and their families who had the misfortune to have had to present to A&E this week, they tell me that the waiting times are intolerable for people needing treatment,” said Deputy Ferris.

Seeking an Explanation
“I have contacted hospital management and the HSE looking for an explanation, I will also be contacting Minister Simon Harris to highlight once again the lack of resources in our health services in Kerry.

Not Enough Staff

“It is blatantly obvious that there are not enough staff, especially doctors servicing out of hours in A&E. It is a situation that is totally unacceptable and is extremely worrying for patients and their families,” Deputy Ferris concluded.

The Maine Valley Post has, is and always will be a free resource for the people of the locality and its wider diaspora.

When we started in 2013, the intention was to be a weekly, online newsletter. Over time, the site has evolved into a much different beast with multiple updates on a daily basis.
Because of its nature as a digital publication, it brings with it certain expenses: computers and cameras that require updating and maintenance; internet hosting and access; to say nothing of the time and hard work that goes into the site. It all adds up…
Our online community has always been our greatest asset and a vocal supporter of the Maine Valley Post since day one.
