The seventh annual Paudie Fitzmaurice Memorial Tractor, Vintage Car and Motorcycle Run will take place on Sunday September 9th, 2018.

It has been six years since Paudie’s untimely passing and the run was founded in his memory in the winter of 2012.

St. Mary’s Beaufort to Benefit

This year’s run will again benefit a very deserving charity. This year St. Mary of the Angels Beaufort is the beneficiary.

St. Mary of the Angels is a residential home dedicated to the care of 76 people with physical and intellectual disabilities ranging from moderate to profound.

Set in beautiful rural surroundings near Beaufort, in the heart of the local community in Kerry, many of the residents have been living there for most of their lives.

Start at the Mart

This year’s run will depart from Castleisland Mart at 1pm and will continue through the town on the one-way system, traveling via the old Limerick Road, Dooneen Roundabout, Headley’s Bridge, Patsy’s Cross, Brosna, through the Black Banks and back to Castleisland finishing back in the yard of Castleisland Mart.

Post Run Action at Tom’s

A post run barbeque will be followed by live music from local band Thing-A-Ma-Jig and it will all happen in Tom McCarthy’s Bar.

As quite a number of vehicles, both tractor and motor cars are expected to take part in this year’s run, the ad hoc committee wishes to apologise in advance for any delay that may occur.

The event was first held in November 2012 to remember a much loved, extremely popular, local taxi-business operator, Paudie Fitzmaurice, who died in a tragic road accident earlier that year in May.

Committee Thanks

The organisers also wish to thank the Gardai and the community for their support and cooperation on the day.

Entry fee is €20 per vehicle, sponsorship cards can be had from any member of the organising committee.
