Amber Jones is a seven year old Castleisland girl at the centre of a fundraising drive being organised by neighbours and friends at present.
Amber is severely brain damaged and her mom, Sarah Louise, suspects she also has mitochondrial complications to cope with.
Adapted Wheelchair
The reason for the fundraising drive is that Amber needs more than just the ordinary buggy she’s been moved around in up to now.
Sarah is looking to Amber’s future health and independence in seeking to secure a specially adapted wheelchair for her. The estimated cost of the wheelchair is €3,500.
Wonderful Neighbours
“I tried and failed to get one from the HSE and now my wonderful neighbours and friends have all gathered around us and are fundraising for us.
“I can’t even begin to imagine how I can thank the people who have donated to the fund so far. The amount raised through the generosity of people in this town for Amber is phenomenal,” said Sarah.
Night at Browne’s Bar
Sarah’s friend, Elizabeth Simmonds said that they are organising a night at Browne’s Bar on this Thursday night, September 27th. from 8:30pm.
“We have close to €1,000 raised already from family and friends and we have so many great spot-prizes given to us by the people of the town that we’re going to raffle them off and have a bit of fun as well. No one will be bored on the night I can assure you.
Contact Number
“We’re inviting everyone to join us at Browne’s Bar on Thursday night so that we can get that chair for little Amber. said Elizabeth.
“Anyone who’d like to donate a spot-prize or cash for the fund or who can help in any way can contact us on: 085 7074451,” said Elizabeth.
