Free Concert to Honour Con Houlihan’s Memory

The annual Con Houlihan, Commemoration Concert will take place in the Ivy Leaf Art Centre, Castleisland on this Saturday October 6th at 7.30 pm.

A hard working committee, under the chairmanship of Dan Casey and President Donal P. Murphy, has left no stone unturned and nothing undone to provide a repeat of last year’s most enjoyable event.

Community Line-Up

The line up includes: Castleisland Parish Choir with accompanist, Ceila Regan on keyboard.

The Walsh family from Scartaglen; Eileen McSweeney, Castleisland; Presentation Secondary School Choir and soloists; Presentation Secondary School Traditional Music Group; Piper Thomas O’Sullivan.

Free Admission – Donations Welcome

Renowned traditional musicians, Nicky and Anne McAuliffe, Denis O’Connor, Con Moynihan and Joan Brosnan will also take part.

Musical director for the concert is Ailish Walsh and the MC is Prionsias O’Sullivan.

The committee is in a position to offer patrons free admission to the concert, but personal financial contributions on the night are welcome to defray running expenses.
