Annual General Meeting

Desmonds annual general meeting was held in the River Island Hotel on Monday evening.

Outgoing chairman Jimmy O’Connell decided to step down and, as there were no nominations for the position, the meeting was adjourned to Friday 4th January. All nominations must be with the secretary by Wednesday 2nd January.

Christmas Lotto Jackpot Worth €5,500

Desmonds Lotto: Numbers Drawn: 2, 10, 12, 17, No winner of the jackpot.

Lucky dip: €30, James Lordan, Castleisland; €20 each to: Martin Nolan, Castleisland; Phil Breen, Castleisland; Sorcha Fenton, Moate, Co. Westmeath and Breda Dennehy, Currow.

Next draw: Saturday, December 22nd in Tom McCarthy’s Bar. Jackpot €5,500.

Desmonds Outclassed in North Kerry Intermediate Final

St Senans 1-16 – Desmonds 0-5

Desmonds were completely outclassed in this totally one sided game played in Brosna on Sunday.

St. Senan’s went into an early lead and were ahead by seven points before Graham O’Connor put over Desmonds first point after 20 minutes.

Luke Lyons scored Desmonds second point a minute later. St. Senan’s made it eight after 25 minutes.

Desmonds finished stronger with points by Tommy Walsh and Tadhg Walsh to see the half time score: St Senan’s 0-8 Desmonds 0-4.

St.Senan’s raced on in the second half registering 1-8 from play.

Mossie O’Connell was Desmonds only scorer in the second half. The final score was St Senan’s 1-16 Desmonds 0-5.

Full marks to Brosna GAA Club for hosting the final as their pitch and hospitality was top class.
