The St. Mary’s Basketball Club U-16 boys progressed to the semi final of their cup competition following a win over Tralee Imperials at the weekend.

The first quarter was close with the visitors leading by a single point at the break.
The early part of the second quarter was similar and the sides traded baskets for the first four minutes.
Both Shane Óg McGaley and Patrick Roche were strong for the home side who increased their lead as the quarter progressed.
Darragh Mov was impressive for Imperials but some excellent shooting from the St. Mary’s boys saw them take a 29 to 17 lead by half time.
St. Mary’s increased their lead during the third quarter and registered 15 points while holding their opponents to just four.
The sides scored eight to six in the final period to see St. Mary’s take the win on a score line of 52 points to 29.
