Creative Associate Seeks Contact with Artists and Educators

Creative Schools associate, Naomi Cahill is reaching out to artists/teachers in the areas of music, drama – devised theatre, art, prop design, creative writing, photography and dance.

A number of schools in Kerry have been selected to participate in the pilot Creative Schools initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme.

Creative Schools is led by the Arts Council in partnership with the Department of Education and Skills and the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.

A Pilot Initiative

This pilot initiative will develop and celebrate arts and creativity in schools and enable the creative potential of children.

A creative associate is assigned to each school and part of their role is to link schools with creative artists / educators. Naomi Cahill is one of the Creative Schools associates.

Artists and Educators

She is working with three schools in Kerry and wants to hear from artists and educators in Kerry.

“If you are a creative artist / educator interested in working with young people in primary schools please send me an email detailing any relevant information you wish to be made available to schools that I am working with,” said Ms. Cahill in an explanation of her role.

Drama Teachers

“I am particularly interested in hearing from artists in the following areas: music, drama – devised theatre; art – prop design; creative writing; photography and dance.

“I am also interested in hearing from drama teachers that provide CPD training for teachers,” she said in conclusion.

Naomi will pass the artists’ details on to the schools and the schools will then make a decision based on that information.
