Garvey’s Stage Memorial Walk for Friend and Colleague Mary

The late Mary O’Keeffe – nee Buckley, Tournafulla and Scartaglin whose memory is being honoured by the charity walk in Castleisland on March 2nd. 

Management and staff of the Castleisland branch of Garvey’s SuperValu are calling for the support of the general public as they organise a memorial walk for a valued member of staff.

Mary Buckley-O’Keeffe worked in the Castleisland store up to the time she lost her battle for life in late 2018.

“We are having a memorial walk for Mary on the March 2nd. at 11am from Castleisland Community Centre and we’re appealing to the people of the locality to help us remember our dear friend and work colleague,” said branch manager, Séamus O’Connor.

Cancer Related Charities

“All the proceeds from the walk will go to Recovery Haven and the Kerry Cancer Support Group.

“We have a fantastic community spirit in Castleisland and the surrounding areas and we are counting on this to make the day a massive success,” said Séamus.

“We aim to raise as much money as possible for these fantastic organisations which help families every day of the week.

Kerry Football Stars

“On the day there will be loads of spot prizes to be won and a free barbecue after.

“We’re really grateful to recent and current Kerry football stars, Aidan O’Mahony, David Moran and Kieran Donaghy who will be there on the day for a meet and greet.

Open to All Ages

“Bring the family and help support Recovery Haven and the Kerry Cancer Support Group.

The walk is open to people of all ages,with loads of fun to be had afterwards some amazing spot prizes to be given away,” said Mr. O’Connor in conclusion.
