Entertaining County Minor League Game

Knock/Brosna/Duagh played Firies in a very entertaining County Minor League game in Knocknagoshel on Friday night, April 5th.

Firies made the better start and led 1-2 to no score after six minutes with Kevin Murphy-McFee getting the opening goal.

The home side scored three goals with Cillian Buckley, Jason Murphy and Danny Moriarty finding the net before half time while Dylan O’Callaghan and Darragh Donohue scored six points between them for the visitors.

Half time Knock/Brosna/Duagh 3-3 – Firies 1-9

The impressive Darragh Donohue added two further points for Firies at the start of the second half before Danny Moriarty goaled for the home side.

Firies had a number of goal chances in the third quarter and would have finished the game as a contest only for some fine saves by goalkeeper Darragh Griffin.

Darragh Donohue did find the net in the 16th minute and Cian Cronin and Dylan O’Callaghan added further points for Firies.

Jason Murphy scored a late consolation goal for the home side.  Final score Knock/Brosna/Duagh 4-7 Firies 3-15.

Junior Championship

Knocknagoshel will play Valentia in the next round of the Junior Championship.Date and venue to be confirmed.

Coiste na nÓg

Training for under 8’s and under 10’s will commence on Sunday 14th April at 12.30pm.

Lotto Jackpot at €8,400

The lotto draw for a jackpot of €8,300 was held in O’Connors Bar on Saturday night last.

The numbers drawn were 4,13,15,29. There was no winner of the jackpot.  The five lucky dips of €30 each were won by: Robert Galvin, Loughfouder; Carmel Ward, Knocknagoshel Cross; Margaret Walsh, Brosna; Mary O’Connell, Scartaglen and Finbarr McSweeney, Knockbrack.

The next draw will be for a jackpot of €8,400 and will be held in Walsh’s Bar on Saturday 11th May.

Tickets are available from Kierans XL; Hungry Ed’s; SuperValu, Abbeyfeale; the local bars and usual sellers.​

Knocknagoshel Clothes Collection

Knocknagoshel GAA are holding an ongoing clothes collection to help raise funds for the club. Bags of clothes can be left into the white lorry container near the log cabin at the Football Field. All types of clothes are accepted as well as shoes, handbags, curtains & towels. Please note that duvets are not accepted.

Cúl Camp in July

Knocknagoshel GAA will host the Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps on the week of July 15th to 19th. Registration is now open on www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie
