The 2019 Dromtrasna Challenge to ‘Take That Step’

The countdown is on for the sixth annual Dromtrasna Challenge on Saturday 19th October on the roads of Dromtrasna, Abbeyfeale, Co Limerick. The sixth annual Dromtrasna Challenge will take place on Saturday, October 19th starting at Dromtrasna National School, Abbeyfeale with starting times of 10am and 11am.

All proceeds go to Milford Care Centre and St. Ita’s Day Care Centre, Abbeyfeale to help them with the tremendous work they do in the locality.

The Dromtrasna Challenge offers an opportunity to all members of the community to get involved in the event and support these very deserving causes through the 5K and 10K runs, 4K walk and 2K children’s Run. There is something for everyone in the Dromtrasna Challenge.

Chip Timing and Unique Medals

The 5K and 10K Runs are both chip timed. Unique finisher medals will be presented to all participants in all events to mark their achievement.

The 2km children’s run takes place at 10am. The 4K Walk and 5K & 10K runs will start at 11am.

A barbeque, hot food, treats tea and coffee will be served afterwards in Dromtrasna National School.

The Winners Circle Later

It doesn’t end there, having conquered the Dromtrasna Challenge, we invite everyone to join us at The Winners Circle Bar in Abbeyfeale at 10pm on the 19th.

Entertainment will be provided by popular Limerick based band Acoustra. There will be a raffle on the night.

Donations at the door to Milford Care Centre and St. Ita’s Day Care Centre, Abbeyfeale.

On Sunday, October 27th a team of: Deborah Colbert, Mary Sheehan, Mike O’Kelly and Kieran Flannery will run the KBC Dublin City Marathon under the Dromtrasna Challenge banner.

Tremendous Effort Involved

The Dromtrasna Challenge organising committee would like to thank all those involved for the tremendous effort they have put in over several months in preparation for the marathon and for taking this magnificent step in support of both charities.
