Radio Kerry’s annual county-wide Christmas Jumper Day fundraiser for St Vincent de Paul will take place on Friday December 6th 2019.

This year the event will be supported by Homefire Supertherm Fuels who sell through outlets across Kerry.

This will be the sixth year of the fundraising initiative which to date has raised over €80,000.

Everyone is invited to take part in this FUNdraising day – private individuals, families, school and university students, teachers, lecturers and administration teams, colleagues in small, medium and large enterprises.

No Lot Too Little

“There’s no amount too little, or large, to raise on the day! You can register to let us know that you are taking part on www.radiokerry.ie/jumperday19 and we will give you a mention on Radio Kerry and on our Social Media channels,” said event spokesperson, Melanie O’Sullivan.

“The money raised via Christmas Jumper Day is used to fund a number of St Vincent de Paul projects right across Kerry.

“These include Christmas food hampers, Santa gifts for children who are homeless and in direct provision, Christmas Day Meals on Wheels and the Kerry Education Fund.

Centres Around Kerry

St Vincent de Paul operates a donation centre in Tralee, seven stores across their conference areas in Tralee, Castleisland, Listowel, Killorglin, Killarney Abbeyfeale with a new shop opening in Dingle this month.

While the usual Christmas Day Meals on Wheels service will be in operation this year, thanks to the generosity of the priests of St John’s Church, St Vincent de Paul will open the doors of the Parish Centre to invite people living on their own or who find themselves homeless to partake of Christmas Day dinner and entertainment between 2pm and 4pm.

Old Christmas Jumpers Wanted

This year you are also encouraged to bring your old Christmas Jumpers to your local St Vincent de Paul shop and to buy this year’s jumper there!

“We are very grateful to everyone who has been a part of Radio Kerry’s Christmas Jumper Day in aid of St Vincent De Paul since 2014! Stay tuned to Radio Kerry for regular updates,” Ms. O’Sullivan urged.
