Chamber Alliance Calls Meeting on Plans for District Heritage Centre

A reminder that Castleisland Chamber Alliance wishes to invite all interested individuals and organizations to a public meeting at the River Island Hotel on this Friday, November 22nd at 8pm.

The purpose is the setting up an independent organisation to put in place a heritage and exhibition centre for the locality,

Tentative plans are being put together for a centre which would incorporate local legacies such as: Con Houlihan’s writings; the Michael O’Donohoe memoirs, the Handed Down/World Fiddle Day archives of Sliabh Luachra music and song; the Castle of the Island history and video; the photographic records and any other historic archives of the town; Castleisland district, and Sliabh Luachra in streetscape, landscape, sport, education, religion, community, society, agriculture, and business.
