The annual general meeting of the Castleisland/Sliabh Luachra / Bannalec Twinning Committee will be held on Friday, January 24th at 7.30pm sharp in the River Island Hotel, Castleisland.

In September of 2019 a group of 17 people from Bannalec visited Castleisland and were hosted by local families over four days.

2020 Visit to Bannalec

“It is planned that a group from the Castleisland/Sliabh Luachra area will make a return visit to Bannalec in 2020. We invite people interested in travelling as part of the twinning group to make contact with us,” said committee chairman, Hugh O’Connell.

“Bannalec is a small market town and very like Castleisland. It’s about thirty minutes from lovely beaches and old, medieval cathedral cities like Quimper, Rennes and Vannes, and the world famous standing stones of Carnac.

Link Building to Continue

“We hope to continue to build links between our two areas and, in that regard, we’re always encouraging new members to join us.

“Our AGM on January will present an ideal opportunity for new members to find out what we’re all about,” said Hugh.

In the meantime, if anyone would like to get involved this year, the committee can be contacted on 085 17 40 677 or by email to: castleislandbannalectwinning@gmail.com
