Brosna GAA Club and Other Local News of Interest

Brosna GAA Club PRO, Mariéad Moriartywith all the news from the club and parish.

I wasn’t sure if I was crazy or just crazy about football to be on a sideline Sunday last. Anyone contemplating an Arctic Expedition could have completed his first round of training on that day.

In sub-zero conditions with a dash of hail and lightening, Storm Denis was the unwelcome guest at the North Kerry League – third round game between Brosna and Ballydonoghue.

Brosna got off to a good start and put three points on the board before a Ballydonoghue penalty in 14th minute saw the sides level.

The tide seemed to turn at this stage with Ballydonoghue getting into its stride clocking up another two goals and a clutch of points.

Regardless of the efforts of Brosna, who found the net in the second half along with some additional points, they seemed to have lost their rhythm.

The full-time score was Brosna 1-8 Ballydonoghue 3-8.

The Science of Resolution Collapse

It’s a well-known fact that the majority of New Year resolutions collapse around mid-February.

It’s probably a combination of the waning of that first rush of enthusiasm coupled with the dark and gloomy nights of early spring.

Conversely, it’s been scientifically proven that anyone who starts a resolution or fitness regime on 1 March has a very high probability of sticking with the program.

With this in mind, why not join our very own Mike Finnegan at his wonderful fitness classes each Saturday in The Hall.

The program is tailored to your capabilities and needs. It’s a great way to improve your health while having a sociable and fun meet up with like minded people.
