New Heights for Knocknagoshel GAA Club

Up The Mall: Knocknagoshel GAA Club supporter, John Cotter from Meinleitrim taking the club colours to new heights when he reached the summit of Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro earlier this month.

Knocknagoshel seniors got their first victory of the season in the North Kerry League when they travelled to overcame Ballylongford on Sunday morning.

Despite all the rain of recent days the pitch was in very good condition and lent itself to an open and high scoring game.

Goals in the first half from James Walsh and John Walsh had Knocknagoshel leading at half time by 2-7 to 7 points.

Liam McCarthy and Ciaran O’Connor were the point scorers for the home side.

Ballylongford had a promising start to the second half with two well taken advanced marks leading to points from Ciaran O’Connor.

Knocknagoshel slowly regained control of the game with Michael Walsh driving his team forward from centre back and Shane O’Connell growing in stature in midfield.

Some well taken points from Michael Keane, Edmund Walsh and Michael Walsh ensured victory for the visitors on a score of 2-12 to 0-14.

Knocknagoshel away to Moyvane

Knocknagoshel will play Moyvane in the North Kerry League on Sunday 1st March at 2pm at The O’Rahilly Park, Ballylongford.

As with all fixtures this time of year it is advisable to check with club officers or social media to ensure the games are going ahead.

Junior Championship Draw

Knocknagoshel has been drawn in a group with Annascaul, Sneem/Derrynane and Kilgarvan in the Junior Championship.  Games will take place in late March and April.

Minors to Play An Ghaeltacht

Knocknagoshel/Brosna/Duagh minors will play An Ghaeltacht in the county minor league on Saturday, February 29th. Venue to be confirmed.

Coiste na nÓg Registration Day

Knocknagoshel GAA will hold a registration day for families and juvenile members on Sunday 15th March at 12.15pm.

Cúl Camps

Knocknagoshel GAA will host the Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps from 27-31 July 2020.

Knocknagoshel Clothes Collection

Knocknagoshel GAA are holding an ongoing clothes collection to help raise funds for the club. Bags of clothes can be left into the white lorry container near the log cabin at the Football Field.  Please note that nothing else is acceptable other than clothing, shoes and handbags.

9,400 Lotto Draw at Moynihan’s

The next draw will be for a jackpot of €9,400 and will be held in Moynihans Bar on Saturday 7th March 7th.
