The management team at Garvey’s SuperValu here in Castleisland has launched an initiative aimed at helping businesses in the community to recover from the severe restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 crisis over the past five months.
“As those months have been a huge struggle for survival on businesses within our community, we here at Garvey’s wanted to do something to support them,” said branch manager, Séamus O’Connor.
“We’re giving away €1,000 worth of vouchers from local business over the next five weeks.
Simple to Enter
“All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is to enter your receipt with your name, number and the local business you’d like to get the €100 voucher for.
“ Place your entry in the box at the back of checkouts. If your name is drawn out we will notify you and purchase a voucher from that business for you,” said Séamus.
100% Compliance on Masking Up
A regular shopper at the Castleisland store sent a message to express his delight that during his visit there yesterday mid morning, he encountered ‘a 100% compliance of mask wearing’ among his fellow shoppers.
“I couldn’t get over it – everyone I met here this morning was wearing a mask – I’m frightfully nervous about bumping into people but this is a great reassurance for me this morning,” he said.
He thought he’d pass on the good news in the middle of all the negativity that’s swirling around in these still strange times.
