Sláinte – They’re Back

After a long abstinence, our local pubs have reopened.

This should be welcome news for those in our parish who have missed the sociability of meeting up with friends.

We wish our publicans the very best as they resume their roles, under difficult circumstances, providing a very important service in our community.

Ode To Autumn

Seasons of mists and mellow fruitfulness is the memorable opening line of the poet John Keats’s Ode to Autumn.

I expect when Keats wrote his epic poem, he was enjoying a perfect September not dissimilar to the one we’re experiencing at present.

This past week of glorious fine weather has been both lovely and precious as we know that it’s the last gift of summer before she gives way to the shadows of fall. Enjoy every moment.

Red Squirrel Alert

Thanks to all those who contacted me to say that the red squirrel has been seen at many locations around the parish.

It’s great to know our native species are flourishing.

Do please let me know if you see any unusual wildlife around the parish. It’s a topic that is of great interest to many of our community.
