Joe and Eileen Calling Time

We wish to say a big thank you to Joe and Eileen Brown who this past week decided to close the doors of the Three Counties Bar.

For decades Joe and Eileen have run a great bar that provided an excellent service to the community.  We wish you the very best in your retirement.  The village just won’t be the same without the Three Counties.

GAA News Round-Up

Brosna’s first game of the North Kerry Championship saw us travel to Listowel to meet the physical force of a very determined Duagh side.

Played under lights, this Friday night encounter saw some very heavy tackling that produced a flurry of black, yellow and red cards.

Both teams ended the game with only 14 men on the pitch.  Brosna and Duagh were very evenly matched score wise all the way through the first and most of the second half with Brosna only gaining traction in the last ten minutes of the game.

If you ever wonder what it means to be a captain, then Timmy Finegan’s performance up and down the pitch was a masterclass in leadership and courage.

He was denied a goal in the second half that would have been a jewel in the crown of his performance on the night.

Likewise, Adam Barry’s presence was seen all over the pitch setting up and getting scores.  Paul Walsh, marked closely by Duagh, dazzled taking his marks up front and producing a goal in the dying minutes that was flawless.

Super sub, Danny Moriarty, came on after the second half water break to kick a terrific goal followed by a great point helping push Brosna closer to certain victory.

The fitness of the group and work rate is a testament to a solid and determined management team who are clearly inspiring this band of brothers to show up and be counted under pressure.  Kudos.
