Following several motions and representations to Kerry County Council and the Transport Infrastructure Ireland on the provision of safety barriers at various locations, both Danny Healy Rae, TD and his daughter, Cllr. Maura Healy Rae have welcomed the follow up work this week.

Badly needed safety barriers have now been erected at a number of places adjacent to Rathmore, Killarney and Farranfore.

“Barriers have been installed at: Gortahaneboy East  adjacent to Reens; on the N22 at Rusheenbeg, Glenflesk; at Kilknedin, Brennan’s Glen and at the start of the N23 road between Farranfore and Castleisland.

“We welcome this work to prevent further accidents and fatalities,” Deputy Danny and Councillor Maura said in a joint statement.
