My Lockdown Experience: Ryan Whelan, Muire Gan Smál, 1st Class, Age 7

“Zoom calls are great fun and I get to see all my friends,” said Ryan Whelan who seems to be coping very well in this current lock-down.

Today we have the third of the ‘My Lock-down Experience’ responses from Scoil Muire Gan Smál initiated by Principal Seamus Moynihan. It’s the turn of Ryan Whelan – a first class pupil and seven years old.

Q. What is lock-down like this time compared to last year?

A. It’s much harder now because we are in Level 5 but I like being able to do nice things like go for walks with my family.

Q. How are you getting on with your online learning?

A. I really like Maths and enjoy doing my tables test online every Friday. We also do Zoom calls with our class. That’s great fun and I get to see all my friends.

Q. What are your favourite subjects to do online?

A. My favourite subjects online are P.E. and Art – we get to do lots of fun challenges and activities.

Q. What are you most looking forward to when you get back to school?

A. I can’t wait to go back and see all my friends. We like to run around at lunchtime and we get to play lots of different games.
