Muire Gan Smál Primary and Presentation Secondary Schools in Castleisland took part in a joint artistic venture at the beginning of May.
“This collaborative project between the two schools saw fifth and sixth class in Muire Gan Smál, guided by their teacher Claire Smith, generate ideas and designs for the boards, which will hang in the corridors of their school,” said Presentation Secondary School art teacher Katie O’Reilly.
Concepts and Creativity
“These ideas were then presented to the Transition Year students of Presentation Secondary who put the concepts together in a creative way on the boards.
“Then on a May 7th the fifth and sixth class students, in two different groups, came to Presentation Secondary school on a sunny Friday morning to paint the boards outside on picnic benches in the courtyard aided and guided by the secondary school students.
“The boards were then presented to Muire Gan Smál by Presentation Secondary students,” said Ms. O’Reilly.
