The death has occurred of John ‘Johnny’ Scanlon, Ballymacdonnell House, Currans, Farranfore, Co. Kerry.

Peacefully, on June 1st 2021, after a short illness, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff of Muckross Ward and the Palliative Care Unit at U.H.K.

Beloved husband of Betty and much loved father of: Jimmy, Kieran, Bláthnaid and Liz.

Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife and family, sister Mary in Currans; brothers: Bertie in Loughrea; Mike in Currans and James in Currans; daughters-in-law Thérése and Sinéad, sons-in-law Ultan and John, his adored grandchildren: Jack, Róisín, Caoimhe, Anna, Sarah, Aibhlinn, Diarmuid, Eoin and Cillian; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

A private family funeral will take place for Johnny with his Requiem Mass on Saturday morning at 11am in the Church of Saints Therese and Colmcille, Currans.

Burial afterwards in Ardcrone Cemetery, Currans. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to Palliative Care UHK.

Please Note: The funeral cortège will depart Johnny’s residence at 10.30am on Saturday morning en route to Currans Church and will depart the church at 12 noon en route to Ardcrone Cemetery.

Please ensure HSE guidelines on social distancing are adhered to at all times.
