Minister Foley’s Welcome for Greenway Green Light

Are tourism associated things about to fall into place for South West Kerry?

Last week, Minister for Education Norma Foley, TD welcomed the proposed Ryanair takeover of the Dublin / Kerry route.

Today she is doing likewise in response to the positive news of the green light for the South Kerry Greenway.

A Long Time Coming

“I welcome today’s High Court decision on the South Kerry Greenway – it’s been a long time coming since funding was first allocated in 2014,” said Minister Foley.

“I’m hopeful that speedy progress can now be made to start construction of the project and I expect that we will see huge benefits for South Kerry when it is completed.

A Massive Impact

“This Greenway will have a massive impact on Cahersiveen and surrounding areas and, given the spectacular scenery for people walking and cycling, it will provide a wonderful showcase for the natural beauty and attractions not alone of South Kerry but the entire South West region,” Minister Foley concluded.
