€30m Fund for Tourism Industry Operators Welcomed by Minister Foley

Minister Norma Foley is encouraging tourism business operators to apply for a share of the €30M under the Tourism Business Continuity Scheme which opens for applications on August 5th.

Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley welcomes a €30 million fund designed to support visitor attractions, activity operators and tourism accommodation providers during off peak seasons.

The funding will be provided under the Tourism Business Continuity Scheme and the supports will be broken down into two phases of funding.

Eligible Visitor Attractions

The first tranche will support eligible visitor attractions and outdoor activity operators, including tourism golf courses and boat tour operators with a maximum grant amount of €800,000. 

The second tranche will apply to eligible Fáilte Ireland approved tourism accommodation providers such as hotels, guesthouses, hostels, holiday camps, caravan and camping parks, self-catering and B&Bs with a maximum grant amount of €800,000. 

Schemes Open on August 5th

Both Schemes will open for applications on August 5th 2021 and close on September 17th 2021.

In welcoming the news of the fund, Minister Foley said that she would encourage all visitor attractions, activity operators and tourism accommodation providers to apply for this scheme worth €30 million in total.

“Kerry is renowned globally as a tourism destination and this scheme will provide vital funding for core businesses like our excellent B&Bs, caravan parks and tour operators to emerge from the pandemic with resilience as we head into the autumn season.”
