Temporary Pause in Walk-in Testing at the Tralee Covid Screening Centre

Cork Kerry Community Healthcare wishes to advise the public that walk-in testing at the Tralee screening centre at Ballymullen Barracks is not currently available.

The centre is still available for testing by appointment.

The demand for tests at the screening centre has been significant in recent weeks. This has led to long waiting times for anyone attending as a walk-in, without an appointment.

Demand Management

“We have taken the decision to temporarily suspend walk-in testing at the centre so that we can manage the demand for appointments, and continue to offer timely and efficient testing by appointment,” according to a statement from the HSE.

Our aim in moving to appointments-only at the centre for the moment is to make sure we can continue to offer appointments in an efficient and timely way.

Make an Appointment

Anyone who wishes to get a test at the centre should make an appointment online or via their GP before travelling to the centre.

Appointments at the centre, whether for a GP referral or for an appointment made on-line, are not affected.

If you have an appointment for a test at the centre, you should attend at the scheduled time.

Any member of the public can still book themselves an appointment for a test at the centre at hse.ie, on this page: https://covid19test.healthservice.ie/hse-self-referral/
