Kerry Mental Health Association Seeks To Recruit Part Time Property/Housing Manager

Kerry Mental Health Association has announced that it is seeking to recruit a property/housing manager.

As an approved housing body with nine residences throughout the Kingdom, Kerry Mental Health Association provides housing units for people living with mental ill-health who are on the local authority housing list.

The chairperson of the Kerry Mental Health Association Board of Trustees, Pat O’Brien, said: that the vacancy on the team has arisen following the decision of Dan O’Connor to retire after more than 20 years with the charity.

During that time, he has developed strong working relationships with the housing authority and the HSE to arrange accommodation and ongoing support for eligible persons.

We are grateful to Dan for his hard work and dedication as well as his passion for promoting mental well-being. We wish Dan good health for a long and happy retirement,” said Mr. O’Brien.

Housing Programme Aspects

The successful candidate for the role of housing/property manager will coordinate all aspects of the Kerry Mental Health Association’s housing programme, including tenancies, maintenance, and fire safety.

Qualifications for the part time post includes: 3-5 years’ managerial experience in a voluntary or business organisation in any or all of the construction and housing/homeless services; experience collaborating with statutory organisations, retaining existing and building new relationships; a proven ability to work on own initiative with excellent self-management experience and full, clean driving license is required.

Desirable for the post will be: Experience in the field of mental health recovery and/or promotion; A third level qualification in housing management, psychiatric nursing, social work or equivalent.

May Develop to Full-Time Role  

While this is a part-time position, it may develop into a full-time role.

The successful candidate will report to the general manager while the salary will be commensurate with the experience of the individual appointed.
