The VW Golf raffle launched by Brosna GAA Club in June reached a thrilling conclusion on Saturday last.

Hosted by Divanes Castleisland, the draw revealed the lucky winner to be Willie Fitzgerald, Meelin, Co. Cork. Mr. Fitzgerald is already a great supporter of the club and a holder of a Brosna Lotto annual ticket for many years.

5,000 Tickets Sold

Close to 5,000 tickets were sold during the life cycle of the raffle. There was tremendous support from businesses in and around the area that not only sold tickets on our behalf but allowed ticket selling tables to set up outside their premises.

Thanks to: Siopa Mislean, Abbeyfeale; Dillane’s, Kilconlea; Jackie Reidy, Castleisland; Kieran’s XL Knocknagoshel; Eugene Shine, Tralee; Fealesbridge and Mountcollins Creameries; Johnny Stack Garage; Fuschia Hair Salon, Abbeyfeale and Murphys Foodstore Brosna.

Thoughtful Individuals

Sincere thanks to Garvey’s SuperValu, Castleisland, Listowel, Abbeyfeale and Tralee for welcoming the ticket selling teams to their premises too.

Big thanks to the many thoughtful individuals, parents and friends of Brosna GAA Club, LGFA and Coiste na nOg who kindly contributed time and effort promoting the raffle and selling tickets.

It was truly a parish-wide initiative with so much generosity across Ireland and beyond.

Divane’s Support Invaluable

The club would like to specially mention the professionalism and style of both Denis and Stan Divane who went above and beyond in their support of the club and who hosted the raffle in their spectacular Castleisland showrooms. Their support has been invaluable.

21st. Century Clubhouse

Brosna GAA Club is an integral part of our community. This fundraiser is going to allow the club to bring its clubhouse into the 21st century guaranteeing a future for its many members and players.  Very well done to John Sheehan, chairman of Brosna GAA Club who so capably lead the initiative and kept his crew focused throughout, making this fundraiser such a resounding success.

Lighting Up

It’s that time of year again when the walking track at Páirc na Féile will be illuminated each evening from 6.30pm to 9pm.  The GAA club is delighted to be able to facilitate this amenity that means so much to our parish.
