Irish Water Advises of Supply Disruption Due to Improvements in Farranfore

Irish Water wishes to advise customers in Farranfore, Firies, Ballyfinnane, Castlemaine, Kiltallagh, Ballyseedy, Ballymacelligott, Ballinorig, Currow, Currans, Ballymacadam and surrounding areas that, as part of water main improvement works being delivered in Farranfore, there may be disruption to water supply from 7pm on Wednesday, November 3rd until 7am on Thursday, November 4th.

During these essential works, homes and businesses in the above areas areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages.

Following the completion of improvement works, water supply may take two to three hours to return as water refills the network.

Complete Ahead of Time

Work crews will endeavour to complete works ahead of time in order to expedite the return of supply to the affected areas.

Irish Water understands this type of work can be inconvenient and will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause.

A stop-go system will be in place on the N22 at the works location for the duration of the works on Wednesday evening, 3 November and on Thursday morning, 4 November.

Closed from Monday to Friday

In order to facilitate preparatory works, the L-3002, Village Greens Road, Farranfore will remain closed from today Monday, November 1st to 6pm on Friday, November 5th. Diversions will be sign-posted on approach.

Leakage Reduction Programme

These works are being carried out as part of Irish Water’s national Leakage Reduction Programme which will, over the next 4 years, see €500 million invested to reduce the level of leakage across the country by fixing and replacing ageing water mains.

This will ensure a safe, reliable water supply which is vital for our health, our environment and our growing population and economy.
