In its efforts to encourage the people of the county to nominate their heroes of 2021, Radio Kerry has teamed up with Fexco to honour those nominated.

“2021has continued to be a challenging year for everyone in Kerry. But through it all, some individuals and groups have shown outstanding community spirit, courage, vision and leadership,” according to a Radio Kerry bulletin.

“Maybe their positivity has kept us going or their actions moved us in some way. They have made us proud to be from Kerry… and as 2021 comes to a close, Radio Kerry and Fexco want to honour them.

Eight Award Recipients

“Each of eight award recipients will receive a specially created 2021 award, crafted and sponsored by Louis Mulcahy Pottery/Potadóireacht na Caolóige, Clogher, Ballyferriter.

“We are inviting Radio Kerry listeners to let us know who they consider to be the Kerry Heroes of 2021.

“It can be a frontline worker, someone in your community or just someone you think deserves to honoured and thanked.

Special Kerry Today Programme

“Once all the entries have been received a panel comprising of Radio Kerry and Fexco representatives will decide on the 2021 recipients.

“On Wednesday, December 22nd Jerry O Sullivan will name and honour them on a special Kerry Today programme and we welcome nominations for Kerry Heroes of all ages.

“Please let us know, in no more than 500 words, who you wish to nominate, along with a photograph if possible by email hero@radiokerry.ie or by post to Kerry Heroes, Kerry Today, Radio Kerry, Maine Street, Tralee, Co Kerry.”

Closing date for receipt of nominations is midday on Thursday, December 16th 2021.
