Green Party Kerry spokesperson and former election candidate, Cleo Murphy has welcomed today’s €50 million Tourism Business Continuity Programme announcement aimed at helping sustain tourism businesses in 2022.

“We are heavily dependent on tourism in Kerry, and it has been very challenging for businesses to stay afloat,” said Ms.Murphy.

“This funding is very welcome and will make a huge difference to many who are struggling. I’m delighted that Minister Martin has listened to the views of Green Party Kerry when we impressed on her the importance of tourism to our county,” said Ms. Murphy.

The programme, announced today, will support strategic tourism transport businesses, Irish based inbound agents, attractions and activities providers, and tourism accommodation providers and will build on the five-phase €55million Tourism Business Continuity Scheme administered by Fáilte Ireland in 2021.
