Deputy Healy Rae Lauds Minister O’Brien for Hearing and Heeding Him on Seniors Housing Issue

Darragh O’Brien, TD, Fianna Fáil Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to whom Kerry Independent TD Danny Healy Rae is grateful for the policy change in the elderly, local authority home ownership laws.

Deputy Danny Healy Rae sent a note to express his happiness that, following his many representations to Minister Darragh O’Brien and the Government, pensioners will be able to purchase their local authority houses.

I have looked for this for many years as I felt it was wrong to disallow elderly people to purchase their houses where they have lived for thirty or forty years.

I am grateful that Minister O’Brien took my request on board,” said Deputy Healy Rae as he wished all his constituents and friends around the county A Very Happy and Safe Christmas and a Bright and Better New Year.
