Castleisland Parish has responded to the sudden news of the passing of a friend in Fr. Kevin McNamara.
“The parish experienced at first hand the magical presence of the late Fr. Kevin and his unbelievable ability as a communicator of God’s word at the Padre Pio Devotions in February 2020. and that evening will long remain etched in the memory.” according to the parish team led by PP Fr. Mossie Brick.
Fr. Kevin was an invited speaker of Fr. Brick’s at the devotions in the month before Covid 19 restrictions hit.
“The Castleisland Parish team wishes to express deepest sympathies to the family, friends and parishioners, to Bishop Ray Browne and the Clergy of the Diocese of Kerry on the untimely passing of Fr. Kevin McNamara P.P. Glenflesk. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace.”

The death has occurred of Fr. Kevin Mc Namara, Killarney, Co. Kerry / Cooraclare, Co. Clare
Beloved son of the late Mary and Tom and much loved brother of Geraldine Condren.
Sadly missed by his brother-in-law Dave, niece Niamh, nephew Caimin, his extended family, neighbours, the Bishop and Priests of the Diocese of Kerry, Conferees in the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, his parishioners in Glenflesk and a wide circle of friends.
May He Rest In Peace.
Mindful of the current great dangers regarding Covid, people are asked not to congregate at the Churches and to maintain social distance at all times.
Fr. Kevin will be reposing in St. Agatha’s Church, Glenflesk on Sunday, December 26th 2021 from 10am to 12 noon and in the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane on Sunday evening from 2.pm to 4pm.
Requiem Mass will take place on Monday, December 27th in St. Senan’s Church, Cooraclare at 2.pm, burial afterwards in Dromelihy Cemetery and in accordance with Government and health guidelines, it will be necessary to have a strict limit on the number who can attend the Funeral Mass in Cooraclare.
