Teachta Pa Daly, Sinn Féin TD for Kerry, has called for an independent review of toll operators in Ireland following complaints about incorrect charges, charges not received, and overcharging.
Teachta Daly said that toll operators in Ireland have been dealing with complaints about overcharging and incorrectly applied fines since their introduction over 10 years ago.
Increased Fines Issued
“I have been contacted by constituents who were issued increased fines on a €3.10 toll charge, that they had already paid.
“Resolving this with eFlow proved unnecessarily stressful and inconvenient.
“I am calling on Minister Eamon Ryan to seek an independent review or audit of each of the toll operators in Ireland, with emphasis on the M50 Barrier Free Toll, which seems particularly problematic.”
