At the start of the 2021/22 season St. Mary’s Basketball Club issued an appeal for sponsorship of new gear.

“A huge amount of new members had registered with the club and so, to be able to accommodate the extra teams, we required several sets of gear,” said club PRO Liz Galwey.

“The response was heart-warming. Four local businesses responded and funded the required sportswear.

Responses Positive

“St. Mary’s has always been fortunate with the response to sponsorship requests and this time was no different.

“Two of the four, Munster Joinery and Educate.ie are major sponsors of ‘The Blitz’ and they purchased gear for the U-16 boys and division one men respectively.

Continued Support

“Cara Credit Union came onboard to sponsor gear for our U-14 division one girls while The Shoe Maker’s Bar came up trumps for the division two ladies.

“The club is very grateful to all four for their continued support of St. Mary’s,” said Ms. Galwey.
