The death has occurred of Margaret Nugent, nee Behan, Carnanes, Kilrush, Co. Clare and formerly of Killarney Road, Castleisland, Co. Kerry.
Peacefully, in the exceptional care of staff of John Paul Ward, the Galway Clinic.
Deeply regretted by her husband Sean, daughter Pearl and partner Daniel, son Shane, daughter-in-law Lorraine, grandchildren: Luke, Christopher and Evan, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
May She Rest In Peace.
Margaret was a daughter of Garda Mick Behan – a native of Co. Kildare who served on the force in Castleisland and the family lived on Barrack Street up to the late 1960s. Her mom Cecilia, ran a B&B business from Oaklands when they moved to the Killarney Road.
With her sister, Sheila, Margaret opened and ran a successful hair-dressing business in a busy Main Street salon in Castleisland in the 1960s.
As their fathers served in An Gárda Síochána together here and they were Barrack Street neighbours, Margaret and the late Breeda Brooks remained friends up to the time of Breeda’s sudden passing on February 14th 2020.
May God be good to them all.
