Team Garvey’s End Superleague Run On A High

Team Garvey’s St. Mary’s finished the Superleague season with a win on the road at the weekend against IT Carlow.

I.T. Carlow got off to a strong start, they hit four threes in the first quarter. Rheanne O’Shea and Lorraine Scanlon were in fine shooting form for St. Mary’s who finished the quarter just six points behind on a score-line of 24 points to 18.

A spread of scores from Team Garvey’s saw them match their first quarter score and good defence resulted in holding Carlow to just six points.

Outstanding Third Quarter

It was the outstanding third quarter performance that sealed the win for Team Garvey’s with all team members playing superbly.

Threes came from Paris McCarthy, Denise Dunlea and Rheanne O’Shea, while Lorraine Scanlon, Meabh Barry and Emma Sherwood controlled the game under the boards.

Team Garvey’s hit 31 points in this quarter and once again strong defence saw them hold Carlow to nine points.

St. Mary’s led by 28 going into the final quarter and went on to take the win comfortably.
