Mrs. Mary O’Connell, Adriville, Scartaglin celebrated her 80th birthday in Castleisland on Sunday with family and friends and a supporting cast of thousands.
After a birthday meal in the River Island Hotel, the crowd – and it was a crowd – moved up the street to Kearney’s Bar where her daughter, Betty is the landlady.
It was an all ‘in-house’ celebration as Mary’s nephew Timmy O’Connor provided the musical entertainment for the evening.
And, like all good days should go, the report is that a great day was had by all.
