Status Yellow Rainfall Warning Curtails Kerry Beach Activities

Given the status yellow rainfall warning currently in place for County Kerry and the rainfall forecast for the weekend, Kerry County Council has decided to run with prior-warnings for its designated bathing beaches this weekend.

The beaches in question are : Ballybunnion North, Ballybunnion South, Ballyheigue, Banna, Fenit, Maharabeg, Ventry, Inch, Kells, Cuas Crom, White Strand in Caherciveen, Ballinskelligs, Derrynane and Inny Strand in Waterville.

The warning are currently in place and will remain so until the results from the bathing water samples of next week’s sampling run are available on Wednesday or Thursday of the coming week. 

Please note that a prior-warning is not a prohibition on bathing or an advice against bathing. Notification of the warnings, along with information on same will be available on the EPA website through the link here: www.beaches.ie
