Just over a month ago a team of volunteers took to the streets for the annual Castleisland Hospice fundraising branch Sunflower Day collection.

On a day of all seasons, the generosity of everyone who donated was evident and, when the counting was all done, an amazing €5,273 was raised and all money raised in Kerry stays in Kerry.

“We would like to thank our collectors who were so good to give their time on such a bad day,” said Liz Galway, chairperson of the Castleisland Hospice fundraising branch.

Nana Bea’s and The Forge

“A big thanks to Nana Bea’s Cafe and The Forge for getting involved this year and a special thanks to everyone who contributed and donated.

“We are blown away by the support received, we realise that not many people carry cash anymore but it is evident from our collection that people went out of their way to be prepared to donate.

“We raised €5,273 which was almost €1,500 up on our 2019 collection. We are extremely grateful to everyone involved,” said Ms. Galwey.
