There’s a new light shining in every corner of the Kingdom this week. It’s the reflected gleam from the much-loved Sam Maguire trophy as it takes a tour around our beloved county.

You don’t get to my age without seeing several great Kerry All Ireland victories, but the win on Sunday, against a magnificent Galway side, felt more meaningful than those gone before.

Holding a Collective Breath

At home and abroad, the entire Kerry support was holding its collective breaths up to the final whistle.

This victory was more than just winning a title. It was about reinforcing the faith the players and fans have in themselves.

I don’t think I’m wrong in saying confidence across the county had been knocked by so many near misses over the past few years.

An Incredible Team

Well done to an incredible team, the management, and the fans who kept climbing the mountain year after year.

Waking up this week with our green and gold flag flying high on the summit is a view to relish. Thank you!
