George and Joan Glover organized the event and Recovery Haven management members have expressed how truly grateful they are to all involved.

Donation Appreciation

“On behalf of everyone at Recovery Haven we would like to express our appreciation to all who dug deep on the night and helped to raise this huge amount of money which will enable us to keep offering our free services to those that need it.

The generosity of the public never ceases to amaze us, so from the bottom of our hearts, Thank you once again,” said Jacinta Bradley of the administration and fundraising wing of the Tralee based charity.

With Charity in Mind

The aim of the Kingdom Veteran Vintage and Classic Car Club is to provide vintage and classic car enthusiasts in Kerry and surrounding counties with a club that promotes their hobby while providing runs and events throughout the year and many of these with a local charity in mind.

The 1979 ‘Rose of Tralee Run’ took place at the end of August of that year and had a stop at the Castleross Hotel in Killarney.

Seized the Moment

During that stop the late Tom Twohill suggested to the late P.J. O Riordan that there was enough interest in vintage cars in Kerry to form a club of their own.

Enthused by the suggestion P.J. seized on the moment and called a meeting of those interested to take place a few weeks later at Farranfore Airport and the rest is their story.

They encourage new members and details of the club can be found with a click on: http://kvvccc.ie/membership/
