Minister for Education and Kerry TD Norma Foley has welcomed the announcement that 33 Kerry pubs, nightclubs, cafes, and theatre venues have secured funding under Government’s Night-Time Economy Support Scheme.
In total €4 million in funding is being made available to assist off peak entertainment in our towns and cities.
The new scheme is creating thousands of employment days – and is already becoming an important jobs source for artists and performers across the county.
World Famous Product
Thirty three venues in Kerry have successfully applied for funding and they include live music venues, theatres, literary events and art exhibitions.
“Kerry’s many pubs, nightclubs, cafes, and theatres offer a world famous, rich cultural product and is vital that Government continues to support and develop a thriving night time economy,” said Minister Foley.
Inviting Night-Time Economy
“A vibrant, diverse and inviting night-time economy is crucial for communities across the county and this funding will ensure that these venues continue to drive tourism, making our towns and villages more attractive places to live in and to visit,” she said.
