The 2022 TG4 All Star Ladies team will be announced at a gala banquet at The Bonnington Dublin Hotel on this Saturday night, November 19th.

The Kerry ladies are well in there with nominations for the following: Ciara Butler, Eilís Lynch, Kayleigh Cronin, Aishling O’Connell, Emma Costello, Cáit Lynch, the 2017 All Star Lorraine Scanlon, captain Anna Galvin, Niamh Carmody, Síofra O’Shea and Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh, the 2012 and 2013 All Star who was also top scorer in the 2022 TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship.

Annual Street Collection

While conducting their annual street collection for the cause, members of the Castleisland Desmonds Ladies GAA Club, Mary Geaney, Marie Twomey-O’Connell and her little boy Jack with Peggy Brosnan wished to send their congratulations and best wishes to their three nominated club-mates: Eilís Lynch, Cáit Lynch, 2012 All Star and, not least, Lorraine Scanlon who won an All Star in 2017 and Scartaglin club member, Aishling O’Connell.

Memorable Homecoming

In spite of losing to a great Meath team in this year’s All-Ireland final in early August, Kerry ladies football made great strides in the course of the year and it’s well they know that they went so close to the ultimate prize.

Also, they were left in no doubt that their gallant efforts were greatly appreciated by the support and turnout on the streets of the towns of the county for their homecoming.

The people of Castleisland and its neighbouring parishes turned out in force and waited in the rain to show their appreciation for the girls and young women who grew up in the community and into the great athletes worthy of representing their county at the highest levels.

Good luck to them all tonight.
