A 1980 visit to RTÉ by a delegation of musicians, set dancers and Irish language activists from the Sliabh Luachra area will be recalled in vivid detail at the Scartaglen Heritage Centre on Saturday night, December 10th. at 8pm sharp.

Noreen Hartnett of Fagin’s Bar presented a copy of the 42 year old recording to PJ Teahan and he’s getting it ready for a grand showing under the auspices of the Handed Down series in Scart on the date and time mentioned and under the title: Oíche Trom, Oíche Éadrom.

Lots of Brilliant Footage

“We have all of the brilliant footage from that night and Nicky McAuliffe, who opened the programme along with Anne McAuliffe and Denis McMahon R.I.P., will present a very special Handed Down based on the episode,” said PJ Teahan co-founder of the Handed Down series.
“It’s important that the families of those featured get to hear about it as they will be transported back in time when they see their loved ones involved,

“Without revealing too much ahead of the night I want to mention the following names and if you know those named please let relatives and friends know that they will be featured on the night in Scartaglin,” said PJ.
