“The tractor run is in aid of Embrace Farm – a charity organisation that provides a support network for farming families who have lost a loved one or suffered serious injury in a farm accident,” said Eimear Daly a sister of the late Aidan.

The post Christmas run will take place on Wednesday, December 28th 2022 starting in Currow Village at 1pm.

Christmas Lights on Tractors

Participants in the run are being encouraged to decorate their vehicles with Christmas lights or whatever ways or means they come up with.

The entry fee is €20 per vehicle and registration will take place at Killeentierna Community Centre in the village from 11am.

The cavalcade of tractors will then head towards Scartaglen and emerge at Roche’s Cross. It’s on down to Castleisland where they will turn left at Garvey’s SuperValu and head back to Callaghan’s Cross and onto Curran’s Village and onto Farranfore before returning to Currow.

Lap of the Village

There, they will do a lap of the village and take in all the areas commercially and emotionally associated with the family, its business and its heavy sense of loss.

The run will end in the village where refreshments will be served in the community centre. Further details of the run can be had by contacting Eimear on 087 7949713.
About Embrace Farm

Embrace FARM is a farming organisation which was founded by a farming family in County Laois in 2014 after the loss of a family member to a sudden farm accident in 2013.

The bereaved family experienced great and invaluable support from neighbours and friends but were surprised to find that there was little or no emotional or practical support networks available to farm families suffering such loss.
