Presentation Castleisland held an information night for their upcoming fundraiser ‘A Night at the Oskars’ last Thursday evening.

It proved to be very informative and was attended by over sixty people. Those in attendance included people from local businesses and clubs, parents, teachers, extended family members, in other words everyone and anyone who had interest in taking part.

Production Quality – Remarkable

Kevin Rowe from Kevin Rowe Events, was in attendance to give information about his creation A Night at the Oskars.

This event has been run throughout the country over the last few years by different clubs and societies.

Kevin displayed clips from previous movies created with other communities, including classics like Michael Collins, The Snapper, Mrs. Doubtfire, Braveheart, Sister Act and many more.

The quality of the production was truly remarkable considering the actors were complete novices, as will be the case with this upcoming venture.

A Truly Unique Experience

The excitement generated on the night was undeniable and everyone left the room with a pep in their step, knowing the experience ahead was going to be a truly unique one in their lives.

If anybody from the wider community would like to take part in this once in a lifetime production, regardless whether you have affiliation to the school or not, you can contact Presentation Castleisland school at 066 71 41178 to sign up.

There will be a casting night on the coming Monday, January 23rd. Following on from this, there will be four Monday evenings of acting training on February 20th , 27th and March 6th, and 13th, and the filming of each movie will take place in Castleisland at the end of March.

A Red Carpet Event

The spectacle will culminate on April 21st. of April with a red carpet event at the Great Southern Hotel in Killarney where ‘A Night at the Oskars’ will showcase seven movie clips and celebrity judges will decide on the Oskar award winners.

“This will be a fantastic way to bring the wider community of Castleisland together, to have fun and try something everyone will more than likely never have experienced. Your interest will be more than welcome,” said Pres spokesperson, Kevin Moore.
