Brosna Gaa Club Match Report

Brosna stepped out on Thursday last in their first game of 2023 and took on the mighty Desmonds.

Our Brosna squad was enhanced by the addition of three players who have stepped up from minors. The trio, David Horan, Mikey Nolan and Jack O’Sullivan were joined by another valuable addition to the squad, Conor Bohane, a hurler from Portlaoise who brings his goal-keeping skills to Brosna.

Brosna had a blistering first half against Desmonds. Two goals finished sublimely by the O’Sullivan boys from Kilmanihan, along with great points plus the terrific defending by our backs ensured we were well on top going into half time.

It was inevitable that Desmonds would rally and they found their feet in the second half. Two goals in quick succession chipped away at the Brosna lead.

Two quality frees sent over by Tom McGoldrick in the second half would be our only scores and it was enough to see the game close out a draw. Well done to all involved for giving us such a thrilling start to 2023.

Delighted to see that the team’s management of William Curtin, Paul Reidy and Bobby Woods is still in place. A well-balanced trio who each bring something unique and positive to the sideline.
